20 weeks....with a boy!!

20 weeks pregnant... wow! We have officially reached the half-way mark!  Or if the little man decides to come early, I guess we are past half-way by now!

This week the baby is the length of  a BANANA!  Hard to believe!

And my belly is getting huge!! I know I say every week that I look and feel so much bigger but this week I feel like I really popped! Where did this belly come from? (and I look like crap by the way.. this was taken after a long day of student teaching.. I'm tired!)
As you can tell my pants clearly don't fit anymore!

I can’t believe something so incredible is actually inside of ME!  Pregnancy is by far the coolest experience of my life.

(I'm embarrassed of these pictures since I look awful... but I made myself post pictures anyways so I could remember what I looked like! oh and beautiful pregnancy glow..pshhh... I don't have a glow.. just extra oily skin which isn't pretty... plus with my face breaking out I feel like a teenager going through puberty again.. and my exhausted face isn't attractive either.. I envy the ones that have the beautiful "glow"..not fair! okay I had to vent for a minute.. done now.. enjoy the rest of the blog!)

My tummy is so round and full! Ahh.. My little guy is big! I think these pictures make me look bigger than I really am, because when I look in the mirror I don't think I look that big until I see the pictures! I guess it also depends on what I'm wearing, since my belly hangs out of my tank top here!

My midwife said I would get very big soon due to my size.. she was right!  I think that having a boy has a lot to do with it too. Just my opinion though.

The average size for a baby at 20 weeks is 10 to 10 1/2 ounces, but our midwife told us he weighed 11 ounces and that was at last weeks ultrasound. Now it's a week later and I'm sure he grew even more!! That explains the belly! :) I love it though it make me feel so amazing to know my baby boy is growing.. and active... boy is he active!! It seems like every night when I'm trying to wind down for bed he wants to have a dance party instead. He is an active little booger.. but I love it. I love feeling him it's amazing!  I love him so much already!  I know he needs a lot more time to grow and get strong, but I wish so badly that I could hold him and smell him and cover him in kisses. Not too much longer now!

As far as sleeping goes.. if you call it sleeping.. it is becoming very uncomfortable. I toss and turn most of the night trying to get comfortable.. and my back is still just as achy as ever. everyone says it's only going to get worse.. so I should probably stop complaining now! But I know my little boy is worth every ache.

Big news: Zach and I signed up for childbirth classes that start in march, and we can't wait! It a class designed just for giving birth naturally and peacefully :) We are doing hypnobirthing (no.. we don't get hypnotized!.. it's just the name.)

Now time for baby names!! I have been thinking about and looking up names almost since the day I found out I was pregnant. I found it so fun looking at all the baby names.. making fun of the ones I hated, and trying to picture my future child with the names I liked. I have changed my mind about them so so much. Zach pretty much agreed to all of the names I liked except for a few.. and then once we found out we were having a boy he really got on board trying to decide on the perfect name with me. It was a fun but also sometimes frustrating going through names and sometimes arguing over some. Some names I loved that he hated and vise versa.. but we finally complied a list of all the names we both really liked. We narrowed it down to 8 names.. then to 4... then we practice saying those four names like we were really talking to our child. (We used our dogs.. haha) Anyways we finally got those names narrowed down to our top two. We love both names so much, and we are both leaning towards one name (the same name thankfully), but we don't want to set that name in stone yet in case one of us changes our mind again! We don't want to give away our top two names just yet just incase they change..but I will share our top 4! Try to guess what you think our top two is!
in no particular order here are our top 4 names:
Elijah
Dylan
Skyler
Brady

I found this poem online that makes me smile :)

Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.
They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy!
